How did I start CrossFit?
I started CrossFit in 2011 in my friends garage in WV to supplement my Mixed Martial Arts training. We mostly did Mainsite workouts or CrossFit Football ( now Power Athlete ) workouts at night after training. I fell in love with it right after my first workout which was Fran knowing this is the same feeling and stimulus I have when I compete in Grappling tournaments. Within a few weeks I could feel and see a huge difference in my performance, as well as feeling more energetic throughout the day.
What inspired me to become a coach?
In 2012 I found a gym to go to and I got to workout frequently with the owner. He taught me a lot about the movements and how to vary them person to person depending on skill and Athletic ability. I would soon help him demo movements in class and work with other members. It’s great experience and feeling seeing people hit their goals and being able to guide them through the process of their fitness journey.
